Youth Week Recap 2010
July 29, 2010
Youth week world view has come and gone. It blew my mind to see all that God did. It was a difficult week for me emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
I lost my Grandpa this past week and got to attend his funeral in the midst of all the busyness. He was a great man and I am so thankful I got to say good bye to him and spend time with my family. I could rest easy that everything would get done because we have the GREATEST staff ever! Big shout out to Greg Manz and Justin Peay.
God did so much this past week, the biggest was we had 23 lives dedicated to Christ! It was a very special time that I won’t be soon to forget.
Now the planning starts for youth week 2011.
Psalm 46:10

I’ve been given some thoughts on my last blog about trying not to use my office to have quiet time. But my job is salary and so much of what we do is outside the office. So at the risk of making it look like I don’t know it all I would like so say: Never under-estimate quiet time. Be still and knowing who God will further your ministry but more importantly deepen your relationship with the one who made you.
A Business Relationship with Jesus
June 5, 2010
This past week I started my real first job (even though I still have a couple of classes I’m finishing this summer). I’m the new youth director at Statesboro First United Methodist Church. My job right now has me being in the office a lot after I finish my morning class.
Now I’ve never had the best record for most consistent quiet or devotion time. I have this feeling though that I could just reason, “Hey, it’s my job to cultivate my relationship with God.” So I would just have devotion time at work. But then my relationship with Jesus would become more of a business relationship. I doubt that is God’s will for anyone. Let’s pray that it doesn’t happen to me.
P.S. As I do have my first job look for my content to include some more Statesboro FUMC stuff.
